EnergySwap is a fast-growing startup in the energy market. We build smart solutions that enable consumers, businesses and partners to share, settle and optimise sustainable energy. We are currently in a strong build-and-scale phase. That means a lot of momentum, processes and structures that are continuously evolving, and an operation that is still being shaped and optimised. That is why we are looking for an entrepreneurial and independent Operations Director who thrives in a dynamic environment and wants to actively help build a scalable organisation.

Our ambition

EnergySwap is not building a traditional organisation, but a platform-driven company in which technology and automation play an increasingly important role in executing operational processes. The role of Operations is therefore shifting from “doing the work” to designing, managing and improving scalable flows. As Operations Director, you play a key role in this transition. A growing part of our operations is powered by systems and AI-driven automation, and this shift is essential to our scalability and European expansion.

Role purpose

In this role, you are ultimately responsible for EnergySwap’s operations. You translate strategy into execution and build an organisation that is scalable, manageable and future-proof. You think beyond teams and processes, focusing on systems and structures that enable growth without creating linear complexity.

What you’ll do

Including:

• Building and further developing the operations organisation.
• Leading teams and driving performance.
• Defining priorities and turning them into actionable initiatives.
• Maintaining control over quality, progress and costs.
• Collaborating with Product and IT to keep the operation scalable as we grow.
• Supporting the CEO by bringing structure and strong execution power.

Position and collaboration

You are part of the Management Team (“MT”) and work closely with the CEO and other department leads. You also work closely with the Head of Product Operations. You drive priorities and execution, while the Head of Product Operations ensures the quality and logic of processes and the platform. Together, you make sure the operation remains both scalable and workable.

• 5+ years of experience in operations within a startup or scale-up environment.
• Experience building teams and organisational structures.
• Sterk in prioriteren, structureren en executie.
• Comfortable working in a dynamic environment.
• You see an organisation as a system that can be designed and optimised.
• You are curious about how technology and AI can fundamentally transform operational processes.
